Clash of Steel
The Profight League
Clash of Steel is the event series bringing armoured combat to crowds across NSW, staged under the AMCL and fought in the outrance format, full steel, full contact, judged on a 10-point scorecard across three 60-second rounds. Season 1 tours NSW starting in Wollongong and onwards onwards to ACT, Albury, Armidale, Newcastle and finishing in Sydney, putting fighters in an elevated, purpose-built cage in front of a live audience and a growing leaderboard.
“Clash of Steel exists to bring pro armoured combat out of the training hall and into the arena, giving fighters a real stage and NSW crowds a sport they've never seen fought live.”
Profighting is full-contact armoured combat, fought in real steel with real strikes, judged the way a combat sport should be. Outrance is the format we fight under: no choreography, no predetermined outcome, just two fighters and a scorecard.
What is profighting?
outrance
-
Every fighter competes in full steel armour built to historical combat standards, not costume-grade kit. It's rated to take real strikes and take them repeatedly, which is exactly what happens once the bout starts.
-
This isn't light or stop-start sparring. Strikes land with full force to legal target zones, and fighters are expected to take them, answer them, and keep fighting. The armour absorbs the hit. The scorecard remembers it.
-
There's no script and no agreed outcome. Outrance means the fight is live from the first exchange, decided by what actually happens in the ring, not by what was planned before it.
The AmCl
Australian medieval armoured league
The AMCL (Australian Medieval Combat League) is the governing body behind Clash of Steel, building armoured combat into a legitimate combat sport in Australia. It sets the rules, the scoring, and the fighter pathway, and runs the events under one national standard as the sport grows.
